Lucknow: Cabinet Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar has publicly refuted the alleged comments made by Samajwadi Party leader Om Prakash Singh about his lineage. In a lengthy social‑media statement, Rajbhar said he has been hearing Singh’s allegations for the past couple of days and, rather than feeling shocked, he feels a sense of pity for the SP leader.
Rajbhar explained that the insinuations regarding his birth stem from the fact that he hails from the economically‑weaker Rajbhar community, not from a landlord or upper‑caste family. He emphasized that he has never been ashamed of his roots; on the contrary, he takes pride in the grit and determination that his community’s background instills in him.
The minister added that, although he could easily retaliate with similar slurs, his upbringing and personal values forbid him from insulting anyone’s parents. Paying homage to Singh’s own parents, Rajbhar remarked that no one chooses the family, caste, or lineage into which they are born – that destiny is decided by the Almighty.
Targeting the Samajwadi Party
Rajbhar then turned his criticism towards the Samajwadi Party, questioning Singh’s devotion to God. He suggested that a true believer would not cling to the SP merely to obtain an Assembly ticket, especially given what Rajbhar described as the party’s alleged disregard for Lord Ram, the Raghukul line, the Suryavansh dynasty, and Sanatan Dharma.
He reaffirmed his commitment to serving the Rajbhar community, backward classes, Dalits, and other marginalized groups, stating that he will continue to raise their concerns without worrying about the political fallout.
In a pointed jab at Singh, Rajbhar said, “If you want an SP ticket, go ahead and take it. The electorate is watching every move, and ultimately they will deliver the verdict.”
No Apology Expected
Rajbhar clarified that he does not demand an apology from Om Prakash Singh, nor does he expect one. However, he urged Singh to reflect on his own parents before making disparaging remarks about anyone’s caste or birth.
He concluded his message with a benediction, writing, “May God bless him,” followed by “Jai Shri Ram.”
