While mourners gathered, the thieves walked away with fourteen mobile phones and a motorcycle. Prompt investigative work has now resulted in two arrests and the retrieval of the stolen items.
Investigation points to a local suspect
Following the complaint, officers from Asarganj police station opened a case and began assembling evidence from CCTV clips and forensic leads. Second arrest follows a raid in Chhoti Korian
Additional intelligence directed police to the neighboring hamlet of Chhoti Korian, where they carried out a focused raid. The operation resulted in the detention of Sonu Kumar, son of local figure Pappu Yadav. Sonu remains in custody as investigators continue to piece together the full chain of events.
